Different use of the wind energy.
Sukup, Jan ; Houdková, Lucie (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis describe main kinds of wind turbines, principle of their functions and their usage to electricity generation. The second part deals with ways to storing wind energy. There is description of compressed air energy storage technology and their combination with combustion of biomass. Second mentioned energy storage technology is electrolysis of water and possibility of usage hydrogen.
Legislative and economic aspects of exploitation of renewable energy sources
Vondra, Marek ; Katolický, Jaroslav (referee) ; Jaroš, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is a brief outline of legislative and economic issues associated with energy production from renewable sources. After reading the work, potential investors should be connive with the pros and cons of the use of renewable resources. The thesis has a recherche character and tries to provide basic information for the possible preparation of an investment project. Renewable energy sources have become an integral part of the energy market, despite their lack of profitability in comparison with conventional sources. It is a consequence of European Union’s financial support. However, the support is changing over time, as well as avalaible technologies, local conditions and many other factors affecting the current investment attractiveness of renewable energy sources. All these factors must be considered by an investor. The current situation is positive for use of biomass energy, both at home and in large incineration plants and cogeneration units. Electricity can be advantageously produced in photovoltaic and small hydropower plants. There is a growing importance of heat pumps exploitation. We can expect slower development of photovoltaic farms and wind power plants contructions.
Energy assessment of the mountain lodging house with the restaurant
Lysková, Markéta ; Velísková, Eva (referee) ; Maurerová, Lenka (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to energy assessment of the moutain loping house with restaurant, situated in Ostružná in Jeseníky Mountains. The theoretical part describes wind power plants. The reason they were chosen is that one of them works directly in Ostružná and delivers elektricity for analyzed building. The main object of this thesis is to find more energy efficient solution for this building, which is investigated in the practical part.
Design of Savonius rotor as source of electric energy
Hruška, Martin ; Sikora, Michal (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is concerned with possibilities to produce electricity from wind. A power source with Savonius rotor was designed and constructed as an educational model using the accessible materials. The simply measurement was taken to determine model features.
Using WXT520 meter station for measuring the wind energy
Skalička, Jiří ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Šlezingr, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis introduces the basics of wind energy. It explains the formation of wind, various types of wind engines, different types of wind power plants (divided by installed capacity), basic methods for wind array determination and wind potential in Czech Republic. Then it turns to Vaisala Weather Transmitter WXT520, which is ideal for measurements in wind energy industries. It explains the transmitter’s basic functions, connection and communication options. Practical part of this thesis is dedicated to realization of measurement using National Instruments CompactRIO platform and LabView development environment. Output of this thesis is a program for long term measurements of meteorological data, analysis and archiving of this data.
Renewable Energy Auction Schemes
Jörka, Lukáš ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the current trend in the field of support for renewable energy sources – the transition from fixed payments to auction mechanisms. Firstly, the thesis describes principles of auctions in the field of RES support and capacity mechanisms. Subsequently, there are described advantages and disadvantages of auctions for RES support and defined their basic elements. This thesis deals with the current state of the global RES market and the description of the current state of the auctions implementation in Europe with focus on the auctions held in Germany and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the current state of the RES market in the Czech Republic describing the development of RES support in the past, the current situation and expected future development. The last chapter is devoted to the fictional economic model of wind park, for which the economic evaluation by the NPV method is performed for different values of the input parameters.

Perception of wind power plants construction on the local level: Case studies in East Bohemia
Janová, M. ; Kunc, J. ; Frantál, Bohumil
The paper aims to evaluate selected findings of a research regarding the attitudes of the inhabitants of East Bohemian municipalities (Anenska Studanka and Vitezna) towards the construction of wind power plants and the perception thereof. A survey was carried out among the inhabitants of the two municipalities, as well as nearby municipalities and guided interviews were conducted with their mayors. The two selected sites differ in population numbers, time of power plant construction, number and size of the turbines and form of financial settlement. In the case of Vitezna, the power plant in question was community-funded, meaning that a portion of the shares was offered to the inhabitants (a unique case in the Czech Republic). The results indicated that, over time, the attitudes and opinions of the respondents from all the municipalities concerned have shifted towards a more positive perception of wind power plants. They have, however, also become more polarized. Citizens' movements against further construction have been created, even though it is currently not possible in the Czech Republic, especially given that the government has cancelled funding for the support of clean power. Respondents who were found to have the fewest issues with the wind power plants were younger than 30 years, graduates of secondary education and resided at a greater distance from the stations without having direct visual contact with them from their home.
